Overview
During my apprenticeship as a mediamatician, three of us were allowed to realise a web project. The aim was to create a website in one week that was live and responsive on all devices. The website should also fulfil a useful purpose. We decided to design a travel guide for the historic town of Rapperswil, which shows beautiful hidden places and points out the historical stories of the town. We received a score of 5.5 for the project.
Problem
Programming an entire website from scratch in just one week is quite a challenge. But creating a website that also offers a pleasant user experience and an aesthetic design was a big challenge for my group and me. What technology can help us to collaborate quickly as a team? Where do we get the content from and how do we prioritise it?
Solution
My team colleagues took care of the content and documentation. We designed the graphics ourselves. I was responsible for the user experience and the code. With Github, we were able to ensure good quality control. Together we created a design guide and were thus able to ensure an aesthetic and user-friendly design. To increase efficiency, we worked with the Bootstrap library.
